KECG broadcasts from the studios at El Cerrito High School, but this is YOUR districtwide radio station serving all eight WCCUSD high schools and feeder families! We're here to amplify student voices, share what's happening across our district, and keep our community connected.

For the remainder of 2025-26, KECG partners with Contra Costa County Office of Education to ensure consistent programming while we build our student broadcast team.

We're accepting audio submissions from students across the district! Whether you want to record station announcements, create 2-minute segments about topics you care about, be a voiceover talent, or share what's happening at your school—we want to hear from YOU!

Programming Phase Begins
KECG broadcasts regular programming including the latest School Board meetings and District committee meetings, while WCCUSD students contribute content including:
- Station IDs and announcements
- 60-second commercials and PSAs
- 2-minute vignettes and segments
- School news and event coverage
🎓 Fall 2026-27 School Year
Radio Broadcasting Class Returns to El Cerrito High School!
We plan to reopen the radio station class, providing comprehensive hands-on training in:
- Radio broadcasting fundamentals
- Audio production and programming
- Content creation and storytelling
- Technical operations and equipment
- On-air performance and hosting skills
- FCC regulations and professional standards
El Cerrito students: This is YOUR opportunity to learn real-world media skills right here on campus! More details about class enrollment will be available in Fall 2026.
🚀 Beyond Fall 2026
Increasing Student Leadership
As students complete their training and develop their skills, KECG will transition to increased student-led programming. Students will take on expanding roles in show creation, production, hosting, and station management.
